MENTARI
FIT AND FLOW

Bulaeinn Villas, Bago, Myanmar
Friday June 21 to Sunday June 23, 2019
**This retreat is being organized as a collaboration with Yangon Yoga House**
Together with Yangon Yoga House, MENTARI Fit & Flow will be bringing our signature Fit & Flow Retreat to Bago, Myanmar. Our method of combining the ancient wisdom of yoga with a modern approach means that you can fully integrate the lessons and tools we provide into your daily life. We believe in cross-training, not just for the physical body, but also for the mind. Mindfulness philosophy is woven into each of our fitness and yoga sessions so that you can always come back to finding equanimity.
A typical day on our retreat will begin with HIIT (high intensity interval training), structured to give you all the benefits of both strength and cardio training, while being varied, and most importantly fun. Follow that each morning with a trigger point release session using myofascial release balls, and ending with breath work and a well-deserved savasana. Afternoon sessions will close with either a vinyasa or yin yoga session so that you can fully balance out intensity with softness, strength with flexibility and mobility. Workshop: The Myths and Truths of Core Work
The main educational component on our retreat will be the afternoon workshop, which will take place from 3pm to 5pm on Saturday June 22. The focus of this workshop will be on the myths and truths of core exercises. While the core plays a central role in stabilizing the body in both movement and stillness, and while strengthening the core is essential to preventing injury and pain, most core exercises are done incorrectly. Furthermore, what we refer to as "core" in fitness exercises and yoga postures are actually slightly different parts of the abdominal muscle group. In this 2-hour workshop, we'll take you through frequently practiced core exercises, demonstrate common mistakes, and teach how to execute them properly. Most importantly we'll take you beyond commonly practiced core exercises that we believe to be less effective, to compound exercises that have proven to be more effective in strengthening the core.
