There are TWO opportunities to join us for our London day retreat, which will take place at our very own open-air terrace studio in Mile End. For our U.K. and European-based students and friends, this is a great way to sample what we do on our longer signature Fit & Flow retreats in Asia. We'll be offering you the same high-level, and unique approach to how cross-training the body and mind can bring long-term and sustainable benefits to your life.
It is a fact that life never quite stays the same. We cycle between phases in our lives that are busy, and phases where we have more time to expend on self-care; we may be in top shape one day, and then suffer an event that limits our physical capabilities; there are times where we feel motivated and on top of the world, and then times that are just plain challenging. How you approach your physical and mental well-being can really determine how you weather the highs and lows of life. We combine the best of fitness, yoga and mindfulness philosophies so that you can maintain a healthy mindset no matter where you find yourself in life.

Our afternoon workshop will focus on the cross benefits between yoga and weight training, particularly how the two inform each other. Yoga, as a form of body-weight training or calisthenics uses mostly isometric movements (length of the muscles do not change) to strengthen the physical body. Furthermore, the amount of weight used in yoga is also defined by each person's own body weight. While yoga itself is a great way to build strength and maintain flexibility, we believe that yogis can really gain in knowledge by combining with incremental weight load and repetitive concentric and eccentric movements.
You will learn, how to call upon the muscle groups in the body to make yoga postures stronger and more stable. We'll be using very specific weight-loaded exercises to show you how to build strength in commonly practiced yoga postures.
Yoga can also benefit weight-lifters and cross-fitters by maintaining space, balance and mobility. Intense weight load can put stress on the body, and the prevention of injury is as much about maintaining range of motion as it is about listening and building inward awareness.
This is an experiential workshop in which students will be participating through weight-loaded exercises and yoga postures.

Our day retreat will take place at our beautiful London Skyline Studio in Mile End, with a stunning view of Canary Wharf. The studio is equipped with pull-up bar, pull-up bands, playo box, Reebok stepper, battles rope, kettlebells, dumbbells, bosu ball, TRX suspension trainer, resistance bands and more to ensure that your workout is varied and fun no matter what level of fitness you're at. Workout, stretch, breathe and meditate under the London sky.
